The Many Faces of God
Today's sermon - God as Judge,
As well he must be
To tame His willful flock,
Yet not the frowning, scolding Father
Waving His finger at our shame.
(Praise you Lord, that I've never met you as such.)
Rather, God as truth teller,
Kindly friend, leading us on to the
Greener pastures we choose to ignore,
Our sheep's eyes blinking, only seeing
The grass below.
(Perhaps, Lord, I should not ask you if my new dress is becoming.)
Another glance, and I see God as the bubble blower,
Gleefully lightening our hearts
As we search for our bubble wands
To blow back our joy to You.
Love your sermons, love your voice,
Thanks,
