Wendy

In my hatching years, 4 dear blue eggs came,
Each in their turn,
Heartily ate more than their fair share of worms
Promised to return,
Blew me a kiss
And flew away.

Hatching years over,
Nest a mess,
Suddenly a bright pink joy - bird
Landed on my lap,
Snuggled up
And said,
“Hi, Mom”
