TSUNAMIS
Earth quakes in
Poseidon’s deep,
A planet vibrates,
Shaking on its’ axis.
Unforeseen,
Hungry, gobbling waves,
Not content with fish,
Come ashore to feed,
Carrying away over 100,000
Innocents into death’s
Ravenous maw.
Disease chews away
At remaining souls,
Begging for humankind’s most basic need -
Pure water.
It seems strange that our first gift to you -
In this natural disaster -
Is bodybags,
While in Iraq
Other souls hunger to
Live another day/ night
In a land of dis - ease
And unnatural disaster,
Where we make our own tsunamis,
As death machines
Swallow the living,
Spewing out corpses,
And flag draped coffins fly home .
